Yard of the Month!!!

After a significant amount of mockery aimed at previous recipients of our neighborhood's "Yard of the Month" award...we have been selected as the July 2007 winner. Our house/yard will be featured in the July newsletter and a large sign announcing the honor will be installed in the yard. I was excited at first... then it hit me, when you have sign in your yard that says "Yard of the Month" on it, people expect to see a perfectly kept lawn. I guess I'll be mowing every other day and picking weeds and watering when I get home from work. Basically, the honor will only increase yardwork and make me part of a group I made fun of out of envy. So much for being a winner. Look for pictures in July.
